Kit: A survey of the art of Kit Hiller

Kit Hiller
25 June — 7 August 2022

Kit is a survey, to date, of the career of Mount Hicks-based artist Kit Hiller. The exhibition presents works from across Kit’s career of more than 50 years in all the mediums with which she has worked during that time – watercolours, oils, linocuts and dioramas – through four themes: My Tasmania, My Travels, My Friends and My Favourite Artists.

Amongst the works on display are scenes from Kit’s travels through Mexico, Russia and France, including the now particularly poignant Strawberries from Ukraine; images of animals and locations around Tasmania’s north-west coast, from Ulverstone to Mount Hicks and Wynyard; and a series of dioramas depicting four of Kit’s favourite artists: Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Frida Kahlo and Edward Hopper.
