From 1987, ArtEx was a premier local art competition, run by the Rotary Club of Ulverstone West and the North West Art Circle, with the Central Coast Council as the major sponsor. The competition’s final year was 2023. This exclusive retrospective showcases the prizewinning works that form the Central Coast Council ArtEx Collection, highlighting the wealth of talent in our community.
Democratic in spirit, the prize attracted artists at all levels of their practice from all over Tasmania and especially the North West. The prize provided a platform to celebrate their work and for audiences to experience the richness of local talent on display.
The Central Coast Council ArtEx Collection is a lasting legacy of the vision of the competition’s co-founders Suzie Charleston and Adrienne Krist, for art to be appreciated and enjoyed whilst also providing important opportunities for artists at all stages of their creative practice.
