Circles loom large in takayna Sonata.
Be it mathematics, aesthetics, technology, or the numinous, it’s all interconnected.
In this talk, Darryl Rogers will discuss and illuminate the many dimensions of Soma Lumia’s and his own practice – from virtual reality and immersive video creation to visualisers for Midnight Oil, he will delve into what is involved in creating virtual reality, augmented reality and video works, and what it takes to be an audio-visual artist today.
About the artist
Darryl Rogers is a Launceston-based artist who works with video, installation, and augmented & virtual reality in order to question the nature of time and matter – to understand what actually matters.
He is also one third of the Tasmanian tech/art collective, Soma Lumia (along with Troy Merritt and James Riggall), who are a hybrid media-based arts practice which is dedicated to delivering considered and impassioned experiences that help us to understand what it means to be human on this fragile and precious planet.
