Workshop – Robot Man – Dash Coding

Robots will usually be distributed one between two participants, with structured and fair “turn-taking”. Ideal for siblings or two friends, but Robot Man can match you with another person, if required. 12 Robots available.

Part 1: Dash Coding.
Participants will use word-block coding (on iPads) to make their robot travel around various board games, collecting cards, coins or simply getting the bad guy! You will be able to make your robot travel, turn, play sounds, dance and even more! Compete against your partner or other robots!

Part 2: Dash Remote Controlled (Same partners)
After a little bit of practice driving, participants will take turns to remote control their team’s Dash robot to play a game of ‘chasey’, and then play a bit of soccer. We will finish off with a game that has a Minecraft theme, where your robot has to travel as quickly as possible to the zone which features a randomly selected Minecraft character.

Recommended for participants aged 6-10

Participants must be at Hive by the designated start time.

Accompanying adults are required to attend and are welcome to participate in the activity.

Accompanying adults do not require an additional ticket to attend the workshop.
