Artist Talk with Paul Hoelen

Date: Saturday 20 June
Time: 11:00am
Location: Art Gallery, Hive

Join award-winning photographer Paul Hoelen for a special artist talk exploring the power of long-term documentary photography, human connection and the stories that unfold over time.

Paul is the co-creator of Men with Heart, the powerful exhibition currently on display in the Hive Art Gallery until 26 July. A Grand Master of Photography with the NZIPP, Paul has spent decades documenting people, landscapes and communities around the world, with a particular focus on advocacy, conservation and human connection.

Drawing on more than 25 years documenting Tasmanian Men’s Gatherings, Paul will share insights into the relationships, trust and storytelling involved in creating meaningful long-form documentary work. He will also discuss the role photography can play in conversations around men’s health, wellbeing and community.

Presented as part of Men’s Health Week, this is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the artist behind Men with Heart.
