Ocean theme block printing with Pakana artist Bonnie Starick

This workshop will explore textile printing through different types of ready-made blocks and fabric paints, creating colourful shapes whilst discussing our sea Country and its importance to Aboriginal people.  This is a hands-on interactive activity where young people will have the opportunity to create an artwork on their own clothing or fabric bag.

All levels of experience are welcome, and all necessary materials will be provided.

What to bring:

• A piece of clothing/bag, cotton, linen and denim works best

OR

• Some calico bags will be available for purchase for $2

Please wear clothes that can get a bit dirty, we will be working with fabric paints which permanently stick to fabric!!

This activity is presented in the Studio 1 and registration includes Hive Access ticket.

Hive Access ticket permits access to levels 1 & 2 including the Science Centre, Gallery & Museum.
