Rapid Science at Hive
The Rapid Science program at Hive is available to schools and group bookings on weekdays from Monday 10 August – Friday 28 August. Our 2026 National Science Week – Rapid Science Program partners are Landcare Tasmania and Harvest Moon. Allow approximately 1hr for a minimum booking of 1 activity, however groups can book up to three activity sessions during a visit with each activity taking approximately 1hr.
Activity types are:
- Rapid Science Session
- Planetarium show
- Hive Access including Science Centre, Art Gallery and Museum.
The Rapid Science program is designed for primary and high school students, this program will deliver high-impact, rapid-fire science sessions led by experts across multiple fields. Each topic can be adapted for specific year levels within the range offered.
There are a limited number of subsidised bus packages available, please send a completed version of the Bank Account Advice Form as well as a bus quote upon submission of booking request through the link below.
All 1st round enquiries will be reviewed from 30th May 2026 and successful bookings confirmed 12th June 2023.
Hive Safety Management Plan
Our Safety Management Plan has been prepared to provide further information to assist visiting group supervisors in developing their risk assessments and other planning.
While Hive facilitators, staff and volunteers will run the program with the students, duty of care remains the responsibility of teachers and adults associated with each group visiting Hive throughout. It is expected that a teacher or adult from each group will be present in any Hive space with students or children. Teacher to student ratios can be found within the Safety Management Plan.

This info pack must be reviewed prior to making a booking to understand the full range of options available for a group visit to Hive during National Science Week 2026.
The Bank Account Advice form must be submitted alongside bus quote to be eligible for the bus cost re-imbursement.
