Step into a mind-expanding sonic and visual journey featuring stunning macro/micro photography of Tasmanian slime moulds by Sarah Lloyd, and the otherworldly sounds of Garry Greenwood’s 18-string Tasmanian Mountain Harp, played by Karlin Love and Suzy Turner on harp, electric violin, clarinet, and gongs.
This iteration of Sound in Space is scientific, artistic and improvisational mastery.
Full Bio:
Karlin Love is a US-born, Tasmanian musician. She composes and improvises, performs on numerous instruments, curates interesting projects and events, teaches, and researches creativity and expertise development.
Suzy Turner plays violin, clarinet, Greenwood bowhorn and other instruments. She is a music educator, improvisor, and organiser – helping make many interesting and positive things happen in the Launceston community.
Sarah Lloyd lives on Black Sugarloaf, as do many slime moulds, fungi, birds, and other creatures. She is an extraordinary naturalist, with deep understanding and care for the ecosystems of Tasmania. Her book, Where the Slime Mould Creeps, is now in its 4th edition.
2 session times per performance at 1-2pm / 3-4pm. $30 per ticket (no concessions).
